About Con Kalamaras
Con Kalamaras is a Melbourne-based musician, events producer, and composer. His passion for Greek music has inspired him to produce music events and festivals, tour around Australia, Europe, UK, and Japan.He has composed music for film and performs in various ensembles in Melbourne. He loves to work with like-minded people who share his passion for world music. Co-founder and Artistic Director Melbourne Rebetiko Festival, and Co-founder and Director of Greek Fringe and runs the highly successful Melbourne Rebetiko Jam. Has worked in the music industry for over 25 years , including APRA/AMCOS ( Music Royalties), PBS FM Marketing and Events Manager, 3MBS Classical Radio -Business Development Manager. Con currently works at the University of Melbourne in Events and Partnerships at Melbourne Connect. Outside of music loves spending time with his family, reading, traveling, and discovering rare records.
